Mobile and Transient Businesses are those without a permanent building in Town, and include the following:
- Fireworks Stand: A type of transient merchant primarily selling fireworks and related seasonal goods
- Mobile Food Vendor: a self-contained, vehicle-mounted food service unit that returns daily to its base of operation, as approved by DHEC, and is used for the preparation and/or sale of food products.
- Transient Merchant: any person who sells goods and who uses a place, such as a parking lot or sidewalk, for those sales without the intention of establishing a permanent business at that location.
Note on Peddlers: Peddler salso fall into this category, but have different requirements and a different application. Peddlers are defined as anyone traveling by foot or vehicle, from place to place, selling, taking or attempting to take orders for the sale of goods or services. The peddler application can be found HERE.
If you have a mobile or transient business working within the Town Limits of Irmo, you will need an Irmo Business License in addition to this application.
